PRESIDENT OF LOCALLY OWNED BALL HOMES INC. JOINS DIYONLINE.COM'S BOARD OF DIRECTORS

D. Ray Ball, Jr. is Most Recent Building Industry Executive To Join the Board of a New Interactive Home Improvement Web Site

LEXINGTON, KY -- DIYonline.com announced today the appointment of D. Ray Ball, Jr., president of Ball Homes, Inc., to its Board of Directors. Ball Homes Inc. is one of Kentucky's largest residential building companies and is nationally recognized among the top 100 builders. DIYonline.com has headquarters in Tucson, Ariz., but operates its Sales & Marketing Division from Lexington. The company launched its new interactive Web site, www.DIYonline.com, on March 6. DIYonline.com gives Do-It-Yourself consumers the ability to custom design and plan home improvement projects from the Web site.

The Web site allows consumers to design and plan more than 20 different home improvement projects online by using the company's free project design software. The project design software is easy to use and unique in that it enables consumers to specifically tailor a home improvement project design to meet their needs. Once consumers complete their design, they submit it to DIYonline.com and within 24 hours can download a custom Specification Kit for their project. The Specification Kit includes: custom designed project drawings, step-by-step how to instructions, a complete list of materials needed for the project (including a price list) and a list of local retailers or home centers where they can purchase the products.

The site offers more than 20 different Do-It-Yourself projects, ranging from intermediate to the more complex. Initially, design projects offered to consumers from the Web site include: Kitchen Designer, Deck Designer, Sprinkler Designer, Utility Shelf Designer, WorkBench Designer, Craftbench Designer, Gazebo Designer, Fence Designer, Paint Calculator, Wall Paper Calculator, Ceiling Tile Calculator, Bath Designer, Mini Greenhouse Designer, Garden Toolbox Designer, Bookshelf Designer, Deck Bench, Designer Coffee Table Designer, Table Terrarium Designer, Floor Tile Calculator, and Concrete Calculator. The company will continue to add new project software to the Web site.

ABOUT RAY BALL, JR.

Ray Ball, Jr., a native of Lexington, Ky., is a past president of the Homebuilders Association of Lexington and former member of the Lexington Chamber of Commerce Executive Board. He served as a director on the Federal Home Loan Bank and Board and has been involved in numerous local civic projects. Ball also owns two Lexington automotive dealerships. He attended the University of Kentucky.
