Quick Closet Storage Tips
How to Create Your Ideal Closet Space With a Few Simple Tips

The traditional plank and pole style doesn't utilize valuable space. By breaking the space up with shelving and hanger bars, you can easily double - even triple your closet space. The key is to make your closet fit your specific needs.

  • Use two hanger bars (double hang) for shorter hanging clothes such as pants and shirts. Double hang shelving with hanger bar is spaced 42" apart.
  • Single hang is used to hang long clothes and is usually 70" from the ground. Only utilize the long hang space needed, this alone often doubles the hanging space in the average closet.
  • Use accessories - tie racks, shoe racks to maximize storage space. Create a specific storage space for all items, such as a specific cubby for socks or a hanging rack for scarves. This not only increases storage space, but helps you keep organized by ensuring everything is returned to its designated place.
  • Look for products that don't take up additional space, but fit onto your closet system or mount on the back of the door or wall.
  • Wire shelving is easy to remove and install in another location.
  • Wire shelving is lightweight and durable - easy to install for women and smaller people. Installation only takes a level, tape measure, drill and screw driver.
  • Wire shelving allows ventilation for clothes. Wire shelving doesn't need to be sanded or painted and won't warp or chip like wood.
