DIYonline.com Unveils
Next Generation Enhanced Web Site for Do-It-Yourselfers
TUCSON, AZ, August 1, 2000 ? DIYonline.com,
the Internet's premier custom home improvement project design site and virtual community for
Do-It-Yourselfers, today delivered a complete redesign of their online presence with a host of
graphic enhancements and user-friendly upgrades to their Web site at
www.DIYonline.com.
The redesign is much more than just a new coat of paint, although
focus groups have called the colorful new interface "visually stunning" and indicated
that the new look is much more aesthetically-pleasing than the original site design, which had
been in place since the site's launch in March of this year. In addition to incorporating
individual color schemes for each specialty section and several other notable style changes, site
visitors will find the navigational toolbars and aids much more intuitive-based and easier to
operate, making the site much easier to move around in and allowing them to instantly find what
they are looking for.
"The new DIYonline.com Web site is an integrated channel of our
total marketing and branding efforts which are focused squarely on the more than 120 million
Do-It-Yourselfers in this country alone," said Michael H. Heisler,
President and CEO of DIYonline.com. "By listening to what both our members had to say
and focusing on our marketing partners objectives, we have created a very useful and practical
experience, as well as successfully conveying DIYonline.com's
distinct online personality and brand platform."
Some of the redesigned navigational tools found on the site includes a
new shortcut bar for returning site members which provides instant "hot-button" access
to previous design projects, "how-to guides" and articles related to their specific
areas of interest and quicker log-in access to the site. Subscribing community members will find
the redesigned site very user-friendly as they will be required to enter log-in information only
once and the technology platform will remember their information credentials each time they log on
afterwards.
"One thing that hasn't changed is the powerful design tool software that
DIY'ers have grown to know and love and which can only be found on our site. With the addition of
Bath Designer and Fence Designer expected to be released at the Hardware later this month, we
continue our commitment to having the most comprehensive design tools available on the
internet." added Heisler.
"We think that the new site design will make it easier for visitors to find
exactly what they are looking for and that it also helps bolster our claim to becoming the online
portal for consumers' every home-improvement need," Heisler
said.
